Advanced Nursing
Advanced nursing refers to an elevated level of nursing practice that goes beyond basic nursing care. Advanced practice nurses (APNs) possess advanced education and specialized skills to provide comprehensive healthcare services. They may include nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, nurse anesthetists, and nurse midwives. APNs have the authority to diagnose and treat patients, prescribe medications, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and provide advanced therapies. APNs contribute to better patient outcomes, expanded access to healthcare, and the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based treatment in a range of healthcare settings through their extensive knowledge and skills.
